Who: Taught by Katy Schutte for long form improvisers who want to expand their practice. What: An advanced long form workshop looking at Weird and Eerie scenes. There will be tea breaks and an hour for lunch. This is a day of advanced long form training, learning about the concepts of Weird and Eerie and how we can put these to use in improvisation. You don't need to know anything about the subject before we start! We'll explore the human condition using unease and the unknown, taking inspiration from the unsettling works of authors such as H. P. Lovecraft, H. G. Wells, Joan Lindsay, Daphne Du Maurier, Margaret Atwood, Stanley Kubrick and Christopher Nolan. Katy's style is experimental and experiential. That means we'll be trying different techniques and seeing what works for this group on this weekend. You'll be working on personal advancement as an improviser as well as connecting and playing with the ensemble. Katy will offer you notes in a positive and held space. This workshop is limited to 12 participants. Unfortunately, this venue is not wheelchair accessible. Please contact katy@katyschutte.co.uk for any other access needs.
