Activate the imagination by engaging the senses! Blanche’s approach to object work and environment enriches scenes with surprising specifics, lush base realities and vivid games. This course is for people who want to add skills to their improv technique. It’s expected that participants have some long form improv training- at least two 8 week courses. In this workshop you will develop the skill of exploring your environment through sight, sound, smell, taste and sensations in the body. By delving into the imagined reality with all the senses, scenes are wholly grounded, players are sharply present and games are vivid! And! These tools will be applied to object work, so you can chop your improv carrots with precision! This style of play asks improvisers to really listen and consider the consequences that ripple out from one clear choice- I can see a shimmer of heat coming off the compost bin, I can smell burning, I can taste the acrid dryness of ashes, I can feel sweat dripping between my bum cheeks... and then we discover together- audience and players - the circumstances of the scene! The who, what and where feel completely inevitable, as well peel back layer by layer and the scene reveals itself with ease. More deets: https://www.blancheimprov…
