Learn how to be intentional with the types of characters you play and choose characters that help your shows be better!
Who is this course best suited to: This class is beginner friendly and open to people of all levels of experience.
Big bold character choices can be great fun, but they’re not the only characters who are needed in improv shows. In this workshop, you’ll learn Blanche’s approach to character (Spoiler: Blanche believes all characters are characters, regardless of how similar they are to the way the player comes across in real life.) and how to step on with a character that will serve the show you are creating. You will be exploring various Character Archetypes that are helpful for all types of shows, including those we often meet in improvised narratives. You will spend a little bit of time on how to create characters generally, but this course focusses more on what character types are useful for shows and when to bring them into shows.
