What is the course about?
Enrich and develop your comedy skills in this improvisation course. Working in a fun and supportive atmosphere, you will learn and practise key improv techniques and skills for building responsiveness and improvisational bravery. The course will cover a range of exercises designed to improve your spontaneity, creativity and communication skills. The focus is on playfulness and aspects of comedy that will enliven your work and engage others. This course is ideal for those new to improv and also serves as an excellent workout for the more experienced. Actors wishing to improve their playfulness, presence and ability to work in the moment, will benefit from this course.
What will we cover?
- Theatre sports games
- Essential improv skills
- Exploring and developing comedy situation.
Please note that acting classes by their very nature can involve exercises and the exploration of material that some students may find challenging.
What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...
• Play Theatre sports games with confidence
• Develop and perform confidently in a range of improvised scenarios.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
All are welcome. The key component is that you have a willingness to take risks, have fun and cooperate with others.
