Are you an actor hoping to master the art of Shakespearean language? Or an improviser looking to hone your skills and try your hand at something new? Then this workshop is for you! Come join ShakeItUp Theatre and develop your improvisation skills through the lens of Shakespeare, focusing specifically on how to improvise in (and master!) the language of the Bard himself. Guided by experienced members of ShakeItUp Theatre, you will develop you skills in: - long-form improvisation - Shakespearean imagery, vocabulary, and grammar - improvised rhyming - wooing and insulting - improvised soliloquys and monologues - iambic pentameter By the end of the workshop, you will be confident using your language skills to perform your own improvised Shakespeare scene! This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in expanding their improv ability in a creative and supportive environment, as well as actors seeking to develop their skills performing Shakespearean texts. Our aim is to create a community of actors and improvisers with a shared love of Shakespeare and who are looking to work collaboratively to develop, improve, and learn.
