Sketch Incubator is a crash-course in harnessing your unique, comedic point of view for sketch comedy. Using improv as a technique for workshopping sketch, participants will learn how to take their idea all the way from a tiny nugget, to a polished premise, to the stage, without ever writing a script. Taught by Devon Henderson, an alumni of The Second City MainStage in Toronto, this workshop equips students with all the tools necessary for great sketch comedy. We will cover:
1. Exploring your point of view
2. Sketch structure (ie. platform, tilt, heightening, blow line)
3. Pitching a premise
4. Improvising a premise, adjusting, and improvising it again!
This class is best suited to advanced level improvisers, but no sketch writing experience is required.
